J erome Melvin (Jody) Wisham was born on December 5, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri to Charlene Wade and Eddie McNeal. He grew up in East St. Louis, attending school in School District #189. He graduated from Lincoln Senior High School. At an early age, Jerome confessed a hope in Jesus Christ and united with Pilgrim Baptist Church.
Jody was employed with the Missouri Pacific Railroad, before moving to Worcester, Massachusetts. While there, he found employment with the Polar Soda Company and also with the Transit Authority.
Jody was a devoted father and a Big Brother to Big Brothers, Inc. to the children in his neighborhood, always trying to push them to achieve greatness in their lives. He coached Joe DiMaggio Little League; assisted with running the league. He also enjoyed fishing and watching wrestling with his son Mario on Monday nights.
On Tuesday, September 18, 2018 in Worcester, MA after a valiant fight, Jerome Melvin (Jody) Wisham answered His Master's call.
Jody leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Charlene Wade of Washington Park, IL, beloved fiancé, Angela Andrews of Worcester, MA; his children, George (Elisa) Muniz, Cortez Palmer, Sr., Demario Andrews of Worcester, MA, Shamica Smith of Fairview Heights, IL, Darron (Tina) Andrews and Ashley Andrews of Worcester, MA; numerous grandchildren; brothers, Anthony (Skip) Wisham, Sr.,and fiancé Marcia, Grover (Terry) Wade and Corey Ramsey of Washington Park, IL, Ike Davis, Jr. of East St. Louis, IL, Jerry Davis and Reginald Davis of Ocala, FL and Richard Reed of Pontoon Beach, IL; sisters, Christel Wisham of Belleville, IL, Shelia (Lamanuel) Hatcher, Lorae (Leapy) Wade, Wanda (Kenneth) (BooBoo) Sims of East St. Louis, IL, Frances Newmones of Ocala, FL and Talya (Mickie) Reed of Springfield, IL; two stepbrothers, Freddie and David Wade; godchildren, Aca Andrews, Eliana Sanchez and Jaymie Suarez; best friends, Anthony Petro, Darryl Loften, Bean McNutt and Sarge; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
