Jerome Ewing was born May 23, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Wheeler Ewing Sr. and Malissia Leatherwood-Ewing. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Wheeler Ewing Jr., whom he loved dearly.

Jerome confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at his grandmother's church, the Baptist Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Prairie, Mississippi.

In addition, he attended the public school system in East St. Louis, Illinois District #189. Jerome was a mild mannered man that was very easy going (slow and easy). He lived in his parent's upstairs apartment until it burned down and was always available for them. He then moved to 622 North 32nd Street until his passing.

Jerome remained a bachelor his whole life and had no children to add to his legacy. Jerome's hobbies consisted of collecting Star Trek movies and all kinds of exotic fishes.

Jerome worked for Ewing's Janitorial Services, which was his family business for over 30+ years until their closing in 2008. He also worked for Whelan Security Company located in St. Louis, Missouri for a number of years until he retired.

Jerome leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers, Lee M. Ewing and Willis Ewing of East St. Louis, Illinois; three sisters, Mary Jackson of Shiloh, Illinois, Ada Ann Gates of St. Louis, Missouri, and Jackie Thomas (William) of Kansas City, Missouri; one uncle, Thurman Jackson of Chicago, Illinois; two aunts, May Wiggins (Cleothis) of Detroit, Michigan, and Lillie Whitman of Houston, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
