Jenice
Anderson
Jul 24, 1948 — Mar 26, 2026
Jenice Olden Anderson, a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on March 26, 2026 at the age of 77. Jenice was born on July 24, 1948 in Bells, Tennessee. Her life centered around devotion to her family and community, and also exhibiting compassion for her fellow man.
Jenice was the cherished wife of Henry Anderson, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. They were married on August 25, 1973, and together raised one son, Cordayle. Her love also extended to her precious grand babies; Cordayle, Jr., Kayden, and Julia Bree Coffman. Her family was the center of her world. She worked hard to help them accomplish their goals. She took great pride in their accomplishments and happiness.
Jenice loved talking to the many friends that she had. She always greeted them with a big "Hello Girlfriend." After that, I knew that their conversation was on and some times would go on, and on, and on...
Jenice was a product of the East St. Louis School District #189, graduating from Lincoln Sr. High School. She later attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville graduating with a Bachelor's Degree.
Jenice worked for the University of Illinois Extension Services and the East St. Louis School District #189's Follow Thru Program. Later she became a teacher's aide. Jenice remained in that position until she retired in 2010.
Jenice was a woman of strong faith. She joined St. Paul Baptist Church in 1971 under the leadership of the late Reverend Obie Rush.
She was a kind, strong, and outspoken individual. She believed in the mantra, "Live and Let Live." Anytime someone she encountered had a problem, she was eager to help after asking them, "What can I do to make it better?"
Jenice was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Iona Olden; brothers, Patro Earl Olden, Donisha Olden, Reginald Olden, Lindsey Olden, Mardie Olden; sisters, Vallerdine Olden, and Cordia Bree Olden. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service. In addition to her husband, son, daughter-in-law, Katrina, and her grandchildren, Jenice leaves behind her siblings, Johnnie Rae Kemp and Audrey Michelle Olden; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Dunlap and Ruth Mayes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
