James Bohanna Sr. was born on January 24, 1949 in East St. Louis, IL to parents Thurman Bohanna and Dorothy Parnell. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age uniting with Galilee Central Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Turner.

James started his educational journey in East St. Louis. He united in wedlock to Carolyn Jean Moore-Bohanna on February 13, 1982 in East St. Louis, IL. And to that union, their miracle baby Faith Bohanna. James worked for Dave Saint Clair for over 40 years up until the age of 60 when he retired.

James loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, playing pool in his man cave, and fixing on cars. He was the one you could always count on through thick and thin. To know James was to love James.

James was welcomed into Heaven's gates by his grandparents who raised him, Charity Parnell and John Swinagain; his parents, his wife, his sons, James Bohanna, Jr. and Robert Garrison; daughter, Crystal Garrison; brothers, Thurman Bohanna Jr. and David Bohanna, all reunited again in Heaven.

James graduated to his Heavenly home on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 5:50 p.m. peacefully in his home. James leaves to cherish his memories, his sons, Marvin (Saroya) Williams, Raymond Henry; daughters, Faith Bohanna, Tomica (Demarious) Sims, Vicky (Edward) Gleason, and Terry (Don) Nicholas; brother, Willard Bohanna; sister, Charity Kennedy, special niece, Sharon Bohanna and a host of grandhcildren, great-grandchildren and other friends and relatives who he loved dearly.
