Mr. James Baron Johnson was born one autumn day on September 29, 1944 to Sargent Eddie B. Johnson and Alberta R. Taylor Johnson.
James received his formal education from Beaumont High School in 1962. Shortly after he became a lifeguard at Whol's Rec Center. He left Whol's to become a financially savvy business owner of a Shell Gas Station in St. Louis, MO. He also worked for Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company. James was their top salesman. He retired after 25 years of service.
His parents Mr. Eddie B. Johnson & Alberta R. Taylor Johnson, and son, Vincent B. Anderson preceded him in death.
Mr. James B. Johnson was very athletic and very competitive times 10. He was a top spades player. James was in it to win it. He loved to go fishing on his boat.
James was skillful in many areas including mechanics. He enjoyed doing work on cars. He also loved to play a variety of sports such as volleyball, baseball, bowling, water skiing on his boat, outdoor camping, playing pool, going to the movies, and racing muscle cars. Family fun for him was going to Forest Park in the summertime. James also enjoyed spending time with his beloved horse, Daisy. He was very fond of horses in general.
James departed this life on March 4, 2024 . He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Bonnie Johnson; fiance, Bertha (Bert) Agnew; sisters, Carolyn Turner, Barbara Ann Johnson, Levon Miles of St. Louis, MO, Loretta Johnson-Lowery, Charlie Mae Rogers (Ray), Lawrence Wilson (Curiseena), Larry Miles (Lisa), Shirley Dianne Miles-Harris of Washington Park, IL, Deboura M. Chapman (Woodrow) of Grove Hill, Alabama; Williams Panter (Bill) & Annie Mae Panter shared a big part in raising him; special friend, Clevon Catherine Smith from Baldwyn, Mississippi.
