Herbert Alexander Jackson Jr. was born on October 28, 1946 to Herbert A. Jackson, Sr. and Evelyn Fears-Jackson. Herbert attended Monroe Elementary School, Rock Jr. High, and graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School in 1964. Herbert attended Galesburg College in Galesburg, IL and graduated from Lincoln University, Jefferson City, IL with a Bachelor's in business.

Herbert worked with his father in the family business--Jackson Venetian Blind Manufacturing Co. The business would have celebrated 79 years this year.

Herbert was drafted in the Army in 1969 and spent 2 years in Brussels, Belgium in Finance. Herbert found "serenity" on the course, accepting missed shots with grace.

Herbert was an avid golfer, scuba diver, chess player, connoisseur of jazz, ham radio operator, boat enthusiast, Harley rider, and reader of the daily newspaper (St. Louis Post Dispatch) along with other interests.

After a long and well-played round, Herbert A. Jackson has taken his final walk to the 19th hole. Herbert slipped away from us on December 12, 2025. His memory will live on in his daughter, Cynthia Alexandria Jackson; his wife, Myra Jack-Jackson; sisters, Lynn (Terry) Thompson, Carla (Kenny) Walker; brother, Ron (Maxine) Jackson; sister-in-law, Kathryn Jack; nieces, Holly Jackson and Laurie Page; nephews, Kyle Jackson (Tierra), George Page, Corian Stephens, and Cortrelle Stephens, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends, and special friends, Greg Knuckles and Paul Webb.
