Mr. Henry James Phillips was born on April 2, 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana to James Smith and Georgia Phillips.
Henry was raised with his close cousins, Lonnie Glen, Joseph Jackson and a host of aunts and uncles, most who preceded him in death.
Henry's mother moved them to Centreville, IL around 1960 where her sister Lola Bynum and uncle Leo Bubba lived.
Henry attended Hughes Quinn Junior High School and East St. Louis Senior High School. He then served the U.S. Army for 4 years and was honorably discharged.
Henry worked at Olin Brass as machinist. He loved music, especially Jazz. He had a sweet tooth and enjoyed his cakes.
Henry made his transition into eternity on Monday, January 22, 2024 in Cahokia, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Phillips; father, James Smith; sister, Bertha Yancey and nephew, Patrick Phillips, III.
Henry leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Patrick (Tina) Phillips, Vernon Yancey, Leona Yancey, John (Annette) Yancey, Louise Yancey, and Beverly Griffin; special daughter, Ramona Miller; nieces, Niketa Smith, Tameka Gray, Patrice Phillips, Seva Phillips; nephews, Dejuan (Shaleah) Lewis, Trymaine Davis, DeMario Phillips, Tamarcus Quilling; special cousin, Freddy Phillips; special friends, Jerome Brown, Alberta Goodwin-Brown and a host of other relatives friends.
