Obituary

Mr. Harold Justin Sanders (Weedie) was born November 2, 1961 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the union of the late John and Millie Sanders. Harold was educated in the East St. Louis public school system. He graduated from Lincoln Sr. High School and attended Belleville Area College. He worked at the Juvenile Detention Center, Salvation Army and New Vision Behavioural Health Center.

Harold accepted Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior at an early age. His mom took him and his friends to Sunday School at an early age. Harold later joined Emanuel Temple and he credits Elder Curtis Riley with God's help in turning his life around. Harold accepted his call to the ministry under Elder Curtis Riley.

Harold had an outgoing personality and was a very loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Harold helped many people. He was a great cook, and would take meals to those sick and less fortunate, that otherwise would not have a meal. If he saw someone in need, and he could help, he was there for them. Harold's ministry was not behind a pulpit, but in the community helping others, the sick, the hurting and those who needed Christ.

Harold was very good with his hands. Harold enjoyed working on cars and could fix almost anything that was broken. He was a blessing to many of us who could not afford a mechanic or a serviceman.

Harold had a great love for his grandchildren, and Harold would visit their school often to ensure that everything was going well with them. He spent quality time with his grandchildren and they were the apple of his eye. Harold was also very protective of his sisters, and he was a father figure to many of his nieces and nephews. He loved them all and they loved him dearly.

Mr. Harold Justin Sanders departed this life on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Shiloh, Illinois. Harold was preceded in death by his son, Haroldlando Latraze Sanders.
