Gwendolyn Rogers was born on September 12, 1969 in East St. Louis, IL to the union of Freddie B. Rogers and Rosie Lee Lumpkin. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age uniting with Rising Star Baptist Church.

Gwendolyn graduated from Lincoln High School. She united in wedlock with Patrick Thompkins in 2006.

Gwendolyn enjoyed playing video games, cooking, and listening to music. But most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Gwendolyn departed this life on February 25, 2021. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her brothers Eugene Crow Jr. and Octavius Crow; her children Ceirra Crow, Ericka Roberson, Roderick Roberson, Lamont Swanigan, and Clinton Swanigan.
