Grover Terrell Wade was born to Charlene Wade and Ike Davis Sr. On May 12, 1972 in East Saint Louis, Illinois. Grover, affectionately known to his family and friends as "Terry" was loved by many. He was also called "Fat Boy" by his sisters Shelia and Chris.
Grover Wade received Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. M. R. Lemons.
Grover received his formal education in East Saint Louis School District #189 attending Cannady Elementary School, Landsdowne Junior High and graduated from East Saint Louis Senior High School Class of 1990.
Grover was employed as a security guard for some years until his health failed. Grover loved listening to the blues and hanging at home with his family and friends. He had a favorite gospel song that he loved to sing, it was called "There's A Leak In This Old Building."
Grover was called home on Sunday, August 23, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, Ike Davis Sr.; sisters, Julia Davis and Christel Wisham; brothers, Albert Wisham, Daland "Dale" Wade, and Jerome "Jody" Wisham; nephew, Toby Wisham. He will be deeply and truly missed.
Grover leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Charlene Wade of Washington Park, IL; three sisters, Shelia (Lamanuel) Hatcher of Belleville, IL; Lorae "Leapy" Wade of East Saint Louis, IL, and Talya (Mickie) Reed of Springfield, IL; two play sisters, Wanda (Kenneth) "Boo Boo" Sims of East Saint Louis, IL, and Pamela Perkins of Cahokia Heights, IL; five brothers, Anthony "Skip" Wisham of Springfield, IL, Ike Davis Jr., Jerry Davis, and Reginald "Reggie" Davis of O'Cala, Florida and Freddie Wade of Belleville, IL; one god daughter, Laila Bemin of Kansas City, MO; one aunt, Bernice Green of Cahokia Heights, IL; one uncle Melvin (Pam) Wisham of Spanish Lake, MO, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, along with four special friends, James Lewis, David "Dave" Williams, Ervin Hawkins, and Gaines McGillberry.
