Ms. Gracie Mae Harris was born to the late Luchen Hues, Sr. and Edna Hues in Macon, Mississippi on November 5, 1948. Gracie graduated from Manassa High School in Memphis, TN. She moved to East St. Louis in 1972. Later, she was employed at Nestle's in Granite City, IL until she retired.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Luchen Hues Jr., and Gregory Hues; her nephews, Emanuel Hawkins, Dana Smith, and Luchen Hues III.

Gracie departed this life on December 17, 2023. She leaves this earth surviving her sisters, Estella (Emanuel) Hawkins, Marion Smith, Deborah Hues, Eloise Roberson, and Frances Hues; brothers, Mack (Ethel) Hues, Phillip Hues, and Anthony Hues;  uncle, Edward Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
