Ms. Georgia Grant was born on August 14, 1933 in West Green, Alabama to George Hood and Martha Rice. Georgia moved to East St. Louis in 1952. It was there on November 28, 1952 she united in wedlock to Johnny Grant Sr.

She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age uniting with Truelight Baptist Church. Georgia worked for many years in the sewing industry in St. Louis, MO. She was employed at Modern Jacket Company. After Modern Jacket Company relocated overseas, she received her Associates Degree in Applied Science and Child Care at State Community College.

Georgia is preceded in death by her son, Johnny Grant Jr. and her daughter, Rosalyn Ann Grant.

Georgia departed this life on October 9, 2023 . She leaves to cherish her loving memory, Barbara Bowdry (Daughter), Jerrica (Richard) Bowdry-Weeden (Granddaughter), Bryant Bowdry (Grandson), Sylvester Sloan III (Great-Grandson), Mariyah Bowdry (Great-Granddaughter), Royce Weeden (Great-Grandson), a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
