George A. Moore was born on December 5, 1937 in East St. Louis, IL to Earnest Moore, Sr. and Girdia Moore-Powell. George confessed a hope in Christ at an early age uniting with Ira Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

George graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School. He later united in holy matrimony to Mary Moore. George enjoyed playing the guitar, going fishing, and listening to Lee Williams. George is preceded in death by his siblings, T.J. Moore, Willie Moore, and Dorothy Flemings.

George departed his life on July 30, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Wendell Rucker, Denice (Ronald) Fields, Nellie Singleton, JC (Trebin) Jones, Bessie (James) Macon, John L. (Ruth) James, Andra (JoAnn) Rucker; god-children, Michelle Perry and Rickey Perry; brothers, Mr. Orgy Lee Moore, of East St. Louis, IL, Mr. Michael Joseph Moore of Bellingham, Washington; nephew, Mr. Edward L. Fleming Jr. of Fairview Heights, IL; nieces, Jeannen C. Flemings of East St. Louis, IL; god-niece Mrs. Deborah Loveless DeWalt (Mr. Charles DeWalt) of East St. Louis, IL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and church families.
