Geneva Brown was born August 2, 1935 in East St. Louis, IL to the union of Peter Williams and Geneva Williams.

She confessed a hope in Christ an early age and united with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. She attended Hughes Quinn Jr. High and Lincoln Senior High School. She later united in wedlock with Ollie Brown.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Teresa Johnson, her son Tommie Rashun DeBruce and her siblings, Martha Marshall, Mary Williams, Samuel Williams and Simon Williams.

Geneva departed this life on May 6, 2020 . She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children, Flora (George) Mumphard, Herbert Wright, Shelia Slack, Reginald (Cheryl) Wright, Carmela (Garry) Denson, Carla (Stan) Richardson, Angela Fox, Sonya DeBruce, Orlando DeBruce and Michael DeBruce; and host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
