Fulton
Wallace
Sep 18, 1936 — Oct 26, 2025
Fulton Wallace, affectionately known to family and friends as "fudge", was born on September 18, 1936, in Utica, Mississippi, to the late Albert and Annie (Roach) Wallace. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Fudge graduated from Simmons High School in Hollandale, Mississippi, before proudly serving his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Korea. Following his service, he settled in Centreville, Illinois, where he made his home and raised his family, remaining in the same house until his passing.
He dedicated more than 25 years to working in Shipping and Receiving at Grandpa Pigeon's in Collinsville, Illinois. Later, he continued his career with the Holly Brothers, the owners of Grandpa Pigeon's, at their other retail locations.
Fudge was a man of simple joys and great company. He loved beginning his mornings solving the world's problems with friends over coffee at McDonald's on Camp Jackson Road. Whether tinkering around the house, working in the yard, or organizing his shed, Fudge stayed busy doing what he loved. His favorite meals included fried rice, ice cream, and Captain D's, but nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with his loved ones.
A devoted family man, Fudge was deeply cherished by many nieces and nephews, who often saw him as a father figure. He also adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren and took pride in being the family historian, always sharing stories and memories of generations' past.
Fudge never met a stranger -- everyone he encountered became a friend. His kindness, humor, and generous spirit touched countless lives.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Danny, Marvin, and John; his daughter, Michelle; his former wife, Rosella; twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
