Frederick Pruitt was born on July 10th, 1963 to the union of William Lee Pruitt and Bobbie Nell Crosby. He as preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Michael Pruitt, Ronald Pruitt, Edward Pruitt, and Christian Pruitt; one sister, Elaine Harmon.

Frederick was educated in East St. Louis School District #189. He loved cooking and worked as a chef at his favorite hang out spot, The Red Room, in Centreville, Illinois. A line would form for his tripe sandwich. He was the food critic of the family and enjoyed listening to old school music and cussing.

Mr. Frederick Pruitt departed this life on May 17, 2026. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Lyniya Pruitt of Centreville, IL; one brother, Stephen Pruitt; seven sisters, Lorraine Harper (Lloyd) of Swansea, IL, Patricia Fallon (Oliver) of Belleville, IL, Joetta Pruitt of Centreville, IL, Angie Hurt of Belleville, IL, Melody Pruitt of Cahokia Heights, IL, Vontisha Williams of Cahokia Heights, and Iesha Williams of Collinsville, IL; special friends, Lynn & Patrick Sherrod. He also leaves many nephews, cousins, uncles, and aunts, along with a village of brothers and friends from Centreville.
