Freddie Ivan Bonner Sr. was born on October 11, 1951 in St. Louis, MO to the union of Odie and Zora Bonner. He confessed a hope in Christ at Morning Star Baptist Church. He also united with New Jerusalem SDA Church.

Freddie attended Lincoln High School in District #189. He united in wedlock to Geretta Bonner on June 7, 1971.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Zora Bonner; father, Odie Bonner; grandson, Jermaine Bonner, Jr.

Freddie departed this life on January 20, 2024. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife Geretta Bonner; children, Darnetta (Daws) Jackson, Freddie Ivan Bonner, Jr., Jermaine (Cheri) Bonner, Sharon Bonner and Alesha Bonner; 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Odessa Moore & Ann (John) Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
