Mrs. Esther Wilson was born on May 5, 1935 to the union of Jessie and Zenobia (neeDickerson) Johnson in Hodges Park, Illinois.  Both parents preceded her in death. As a young child the family moved to East St. Louis, Illinois, where Esther continued her life's journey.  She was educated in School District #189, graduating from Lincoln Senior High School.  She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Bethel Temple.

On June 22, 1954, Esther married her soulmate for life in the person of Glendon Wilson.  Glendon preceded her in death on August 6, 1988.  Esther was also preceded in death by her children, Charles Wilson, Daryl Wilson, Lorenzo Wilson and Andre Wilson; and two siblings, Jesse Johnson, Jr. and Wilbert Johnson, Sr.

Esther loved her family and taking care and providing for them.  She also loved her church.  In September of 1964, Esther united with Wilkerson Chapel A.M.E.  She remained faithful and active until her health would not allow her.

Esther departed this life on December 14, 2018 in East St. Louis, Illinois.  She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Michael (Angela) Wilson, Randy Wilson, Maurice Berry, Kathy Wilson, Karen Wilson, Glenda Wilson, Cheryl Wilson, Charita Wilson, Ina Brock and Chartashia Miller;  69 grandchildren; 127 great-grandchildren; 16 great great-grandchildren; one sister, Denise Lowery;  one brother, Howard Johnson;  numerous other family members and friends.
