Estella Prayer-Brooks was born on December 18, 1943 to the union of the late Minnie Durant-Prayer and Abe Prayer Sr. in Cruger, Mississippi.

Estella attended Cruger Attendance Center of Holmes County in Mississippi. Estella confessed her life to Christ at an early age. Estella was loved by family and many in the community.

Estella was preceded in death by her sons Michael Joe (Mack) Brooks and James Earl Brooks. Estella was also preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Burch and nine brothers; Joe Prayer, William Prayer, Isaiah Prayer, Abe Prayer, Willie Moses and Willie Prayer, Sr.

Estella leaves to cherish her memories; one son Arthur Brooks Sr., two daughters, Shirley Joe) Washington of Killeen, Texas and Tera (Elston) Suggs of Shiloh, IL; daughter-in-law Michelle (James) Brooks; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Josephine West and niece Geneva (Cat) Prayer of Greenwood, Mississippi; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
