Eslie Smith, 77, of St. Louis, MO, last moments on earth occurred Saturday, August 26, 2023. He graduated from M.M. Tate School in Marvell, Arkansas. He moved to Chicago, Illinois for a short period and then to East St. Louis, IL/ St. Louis, MO areas.

Eslie learned the trade as an auto mechanic and was well known as a mobile mechanic throughout East St. Louis, IL and St. Louis, MO areas. He retired from the Illinois School Transportation System.

He is preceded is death by his parents, James T. and Leonia Smith, three brothers, Joseph, Jessie, and O.C. and two sisters, Annie Mae Smith and Ruthie Wyatt and two daughters, Eyvonnia Monk and Wendy Watson and one son, Alvin Williams, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Annie Smith; four brothers, Tom of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Jeff of Chicago, IL, Leotriest of Little Rock, AR., and Leslie of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Beatrice Davis of Chicago, IL, and Ruby (Sedelle) Herring of Pine Bluff, AR; two daughters, Stephanie (Sam) Ryles of Walls, MS and Annie (Jamie) Pettigrew of Cedar Rapids, IA; eights sons, Jermain Monk of Belleville, IL; Brandon Smith of Belleville, IL, Booker Turner of Madison, IL; Arthur Williams, Jr. of Belleville, IL, D'Juan (Lizzy) Williams of Granite City, IL, D'Anthony Williams of East St. Louis, IL, Brian (Brenda) Williams of Shiloh, IL, Quartez Watson of Cedar Rapids, IA and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
