Elreese Johnson was born on October 5, 1948 in St. Louis, MO to the union of the late Roy Johnson and Glennie Mae. He confessed a hope in Christ as a young adult. He resided in East St. Louis his entire life.

Elreese was preceded in death by his sister Alverna Nwangwa and his granddaughter Chelsea Broomfield.

Elresse attended Park Elementary School, Clark Jr. High School, and graduated from Cahokia High School. He loved music, enjoyed dancing and spending time with his family. He loved to cook and could make some wonderful biscuits. He also loved landscaping.

Elreese departed this life on May 25, 2021. He is survived by his three children, LaMarcus Childrous, Angela Childrous, and Areesa Johnson; 5 siblings, Rita Johnson, Chaneta Johnson, Glenn Johnson, Raymond Johnson, and Kieness Johnson; 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, special friend Carolyn Davis, and a host of other relatives.
