Mr. Edgar Lee Richardson was born on January 30, 1938 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the union of Una Richardson and Amie Nave Neely. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers, Eugene Richardson, Willie Neely and his sister, Gloria J. Johnson.
He was a lifelong resident of East St. Louis, receiving his education from School District #189. In 1959, Edgar married Alice Ruth Riley who also preceded him in death. He gained employment with Hunter Packing House and remained there until his health failed.
Edgar departed this life on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 in Belleville, Illinois. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Lee Riley Richardson. He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Darlene, Donna, Sheryl and Rayshunder all of East St. Louis, IL; one son, Anthony Richardson of O'Fallon, IL; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Eric Neely of East St. Louis, IL, Donald (Dorothy) Neely of Atlanta, GA, Alphonso (Connie) Neely of St. Louis, MO, Mary Jones of East St. Louis, IL, Yvonne (Ulice) Jordan of Glen Carbon, IL, Antionette (Robert) Dawkins of St. Louis, MO and Patti (Ron) Marbra of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
