Obituary

Doris "Pasha" Robinson lived a life grounded in strength, guided by purpose, and fueled by an unwavering spirit. Born on February 23, 1935, she moved through the world with boldness, determination, and a heart full of fierce love. She didn't wait for change - she made it.

As one of the first students to integrate schools in East St. Louis, she walked hallways few dared to enter at the time. Later, she became one of the first Black nurses in the state of Illinois, breaking barriers not just with her presence, but with her excellence. Her career as a nurse was more than a job - it was a mission of dignity, healing, and compassion.

Pasha's standards were high because she gave nothing less herself. She believed in hard work, in speaking your mind, and in standing up for what's right. She lived loud, loved hard, and left behind a legacy as powerful as her voice.

Pasha was the devoted mother of her late daughter, Zelphia Robinson-Otis, and her surviving daughter, Ardis Robinson Martin-Williams, both of whom she raised with unwavering grit, fierce pride, and deep, abiding love. She poured her strength into motherhood, guiding her daughters through life with a steady hand and a purposeful life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Odessa "Scrap" Gardner, who instilled in her the strength and resilience she carried throughout her life. Pasha also joins her cherished sister, Barbara "Bibbo" Wilson, and her dear daughter, Zelphia in eternal rest. Their bonds were rooted in love, and now they are reunited in peace.

She leaves behind a lasting legacy through her grandchildren: Wade Martin III (and his wife, Jymeka Martin), Karlon Williams, AuDoris Faith Otis, and RoNay Williams, each carrying forward a piece of her spirit, courage, and wisdom.

Pasha is also survived by her beloved great-grandchildren: Wade Martin IV, Jyniah Martin, Alysia Williams, Brystol Eggleston, and Brandon Eggleston Jr., the youngest branches of her family tree, whom she deeply loved.

Among them, Wade IV alongside his partner, R'Moni Ferrell was a constant and loving presence, visiting often and bringing light and connection during Pasha's final years. Their devotion reflected the same nurturing love she had always given.
