Doris B.
Hill
Feb 16, 1964 — Apr 3, 2024
Doris Belinda Hill was born on February 16, 1964 at Christian Welfare Hospital in East St. Louis, IL to John Wayne Sr. and Inette Hill. Ms. Hill attended school in District #189 graduating from East St. Louis Senior High School. She attended business school at State Community College where she received her degree in Data Entry. She also received multiple certifications in Professional Business School.
After college, she worked as a secretary at East St. Louis medical building for several years. She moved o to work at the Sheraton Hotel as a receptionist for several years. Her calling to protect began at Whalen Security, followed by Granite City Steel Security and finally 10 years at Barnes Jewish Hospital Security. She had many other positions until she retired from St. Elizabeth's hospital due to her declining health issues.
Doris was a vey caring and compassionate person. She loved her siblings, father, and entire family dearly. She was the glue that kept her siblings close. She would always gave family gatherings to keep everyone together. Even when she was confined to a wheelchair, she still cooked for everyone because she knew food was the comfort of being together.
She was always willing to help with whatever or however she could. She was a true giver from her heart. If she thought you needed something, she would always try to provide it before she was asked to.
Doris loved to cook and bake. She would always cook more than she could eat because that was the excuse to share it with others. Her specialty among many other dishes was lasagna. Everyone loved her lasagna. She could not attend a family function without it.
She would always say exactly what was on her mind and would always be honest about it.
Doris was very smart in handling her own affairs with whatever she needed done, she would get it done herself no matter what it was. If she needed something done, she would go far and beyond to do it herself. When she became ill and stopped driving, it really took away some of her independence and it caused her to become a little depressed, but she found a way to overcome her disabilities and found peace in her situation. She would always say, "I prayed about it."
She was deeply loved by her remaining family, father, siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
On April 3, 2024 at 11:15 a.m., at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL. Doris Belinda Hill answered her Master's calling to take her final trip to her eternal resting place.
