Diane Nelson was born on August 28, 1950 in East St. Louis, IL to the union of Willie Lee Jones and Ida Mae Jones. Diane confessed a hope in Christ and was united with House of Prayer to All Nations Church.

Diane graduated from high school and later went to Nursing School. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital for 30 years.

Diane departed this life on December 2, 2020. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother Ida Mae Jones; her sisters Kathie O'Neal-Nelson, Lois Jones-Barnes; brother Willie C. Jones (Verliera Jones); son Antione Jones; daughters Delkeisha Swingler and Donzetta Jones.
