Ms. Diane Elizabeth Harris was born on October 18, 1962 in East St. Louis, IL to parents Marion Sr. and Jodie Harris. She was the last child born to this union and was affectionately known as "the baby girl."

Diane confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Norman E. Owens Sr., where she remained a member until her death. As a young member, she was active in several youth organizations including Jr. Ushers and Jr. Nurses. She was educated in the public school system in East St. Louis, IL and was a proud graduate of Lincoln Senior High School's Class of 1980 where she was very active in sports. She matriculated to college, first at SWIC and then on to SIUE to study Elementary Education to fulfill her passion of caring for children. To this end she was employed for several years at the Lessie Bates Davis Daycare Center in East St. Louis and at several Head Start Centers in St. Louis, Missouri.

Until her untimely death, Diane was involved with her community through various charities and club organizations and through the years she was an active member of NCNW, East St. Louis chapter. She was a lovable, kind, and friendly person who in her spare time enjoyed family gatherings, watching NBA games, cooking and coordinating fun-loving hats with her outfits.

Diane passed away unexpectedly on May 20, 2020 after a massive brain aneurysm. She was preceded in death by her parents Marion Sr. and Jodie Harris; brothers, Melvin Harris, Naccoma Harris, Phillip Harris; granddaughter Makayla Washington and nephew Antonio Little.
