Dewayne Mannie was born on August 27, 1977 in Jackson, Mississippi to the union of John Leggett and Tommie Leggett.

Dewayne received his education while residing in Mississippi. He confessed a hope in Christ at the age of twenty-five and later moved to East St. Louis, Illinois in 1991.

Dewayne loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Dewayne departed this life on November 29, 2019 in Belleville, Illinois.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Tommie Leggett; father, John Leggett; brother, Christopher Mannie; sisters, Yolanda Mannie and Coty Leggett; children, Lyndellia Mannie, Dewayne R. Mannie and Stephen Mannie; stepchildren, Natasa White, Jason,  Barbara and Julia Boczek; special friend of 15 years, Donna Boczek and a host of other relatives and friends.
