Devoshia
Gray
Mar 12, 1968 — Sep 23, 2023
Deacon Devoshia (Devo) Gray Sr. was born March 12, 1968 in the city of East Saint Louis, IL to Annie L. Gray and Timothy Williams (preceded him in death). He attended his childhood church with his family where he confessed his hope in Christ at an early age.
He later became a member of the Greater Grace Ministries in 2012 where he received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus' name for the remission of sin according to Acts 2:38. Deacon Devoshia Gray had a love for God like no other. He would constantly remind us of the story of David. In the words of Deacon Devoshia Gray, as he said many times, "God had truly kept his promise, if he said it, then that settles it."
Devoshia Gray attended the East Saint Louis School System, where he later received an Associate's Degree. Devoshia was loved by many, but spent most of his time at home, where he loved to cook for his family and attend family gatherings.
In December 2013, Devoshia united in Holy Matrimony to his wife of 10 years, Lashunta Gray. To this union, one son, David Gray was born, which brings the total of seven children they have together.
Devoshia Gray departed this life on September 23, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. as he transitioned from earth to glory at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife, Lashunta Gray; four children, Devoshia Gray Jr. of St. Louis, MO., Deaysha Gray of St. Louis, MO., Doneisha Gray of St. Louis, MO., and David Gray of Madison, IL; three stepchildren, DeZerae (Tearez) Quarles of Cahokia Heights, IL, Lamont Loston of St. Louis, MO., Leontae Loston of Belleville, IL; beloved mother, Annie L.
