Mr. Desmond Tremayne Phipps was born on July 5, 1974 to the union of Mr. John E. Phipps, Sr. and Maggie Bernice Mitchell-Phipps of Centreville, Illinois.

He is preceded in death by his son, Dontes T. Phipps. He received his formal education with East St. Louis School District 189 and St. Louis Community College. He was employed as a journeyman iron worker, Local396 of St. Louis, MO for 20 years.

Desmond enjoyed his life and was a caring and helpful person his heart was genuine. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and really enjoyed movie night and hanging with his children. He was a jack of all trades and very intelligent. He also was a boy scout for many years.

On June 20, 2017, Desmond transitioned from earth. He leaves to cherish his memories, his father, John Phipps, Sr.; his mother, Maggie Bernice Mitchell-Phipps; his fiancé, Tracy Cruise; his four boys, Jarron T. Phipps, Clayton A. Phipps, Jishmael D. Phipps, Issac D. Phipps; his two daughters, Jamiayla T. Phipps, Maggie Bernice Mitchell-Phipps; two brothers, John E. Phipps, II and his twin, Damian T. Phipps and a special sister-in-law and a host of aunts, uncles, and nieces and nephews.
