Mr. Derrick Yelder, Jr. age 28, was born on April 26, 1994 at Touchette Regional Hospital in Centreville, IL. He was born to Yelder, Sr. and Leneshia Lay. Derrick was the eldest of one sibling Jerimyah Wells. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Marshall McCraney; his grandmother Rosemary McCraney; his niece Car'ree Darough that he all loved so dearly.

Derrick received his education from Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, IL. Derrick was blessed with a mother that gave him the world. He loved spending time with his son, his family and friends, watching sports on television, and going out to eat with family and traveling back home during the holidays to visit his friends and family. Derrick loved fashion so much he wanted to open his own clothing store, he was also a car enthusiast.

On Saturday morning, June 11, 2022 , God called him home while asleep comfortably in his bed.

Derrick leaves to cherish his loving memory to his mother, Leneshia Lay of Tampa, FL; his father, Derrick Yelder, Sr. of Louisville, KY; his son, Jordan Derrick Yelder of Tampa FL; his sister, Jerimyah Wells; his brothers, Merrell Wells, Jr. and Rodney Wells; his God mother, Latrice Clayborne; his aunt(s), Shernita Richardson and Brandy Richardson; his cousin(s), Sarajanae Watts, Autumn Cosey, and Ayden Darough; his great-great-aunt, Estelle Buchanan; his favorite cousin he loved as a brother, Andre McGill; a host of relatives and friends.
