Obituary

Mr. Darnell Fultz was born on April 7, 1952 at Christian Welfare Hospital in East St. Louis, Illinois. Darnell was born to the union of Mr. & Mrs. William T. and Aubrey O. Fultz of Bledsoe, Arkansas and New Orleans, Louisiana. Both parents preceded him in death. Darnell accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Darnell attended Chenoit Elementary School, Worth Jr. High and Cahokia High School where he graduated in 1971. Mr. Fultz sought further education at Belleville Area College where he received an Associate's Degree in Business. Darnell attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

Darnell spent most of his working career at Sears in Fairview Heights, IL. He retired from Sears after 34 years of working in loading, stocking, and inventory. Darnell worked several years as a long-term substitute teacher in School District 187 Cahokia, IL.

Mr. Fultz enjoyed a variety of sports. Baseball, football, basketball, and boxing were among his favorite. Darnell also enjoyed fishing (especially in his motorboat), traveling, dressing in style, playing chess, attending concerts, and picnicking .

Darnell was an avid reader. His favorite topics included history, social justice/activism, and investment endeavors. He was a lover of music, particularly Jazz. Darnell appreciated the artistry of many entertainers. The Temptations, Stylistics, The Rippertons (Tourist In Paradise) and Chaka Khan were a few of his favorites. Darnell's laid back style and always pleasant demeanor were a pleasure to be remained eternally optimistic. His "I always think I can" mantra were both encouraging and inspiring.

Mr. Darnell Fultz departed this life on January 12, 2024. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory: Aunt Doris Fultz Pickett (Detroit, Michigan); cousins, JoanMarie Parrish (Joe) Holmes (Hammond, Indiana) and Jackie (Albert) Garrett (Detroit, Michigan), other cousins, relatives, and friends. Darnell's significant other, companion, and best friend Jeanette Willaims, and the entire Williams Family.
