Darlene (Tipler) Johnson was born to William and Mattie (Johnson) Tipler on February 6, 1940 in Memphis, TN.

Darlene was educated in Public Schools of East St. Louis, Illinois.  She was employed at St. Louis Trust Co and held the position of Account Manager at U. S. Bank. Darlene was a member of O.E.S, Ahmes Court Daughter #84, Order of Golden Circle and also a member of Diamond Court, H.O.J. #64.

She was a person who was devoted to whatever was needed of her.  She would give her best to anyone in need. Darlene loved good soul food.  She always looked forward to family gatherings and was ready to do her part.

Darlene was united in Holy Matrimony to Charles Johnson for many years.

Darlene departed this life on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois.  She was preceded in death by her father, William Tipler; brothers, Freddie, Kenneth and Gerald Tipler; and a sister, Juanita Tipler.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Mattie Tipler;  two brothers, William Tipler of Addison, IL and Harvey Tipler of Belleville, IL;  two sisters, Jessie Tipler of Belleville, IL and Sharon (Larry Gale) Tipler of Belleville, IL;  eight nephews, Terrence (Alisha) Tipler of Granite City, IL, Terrell Tipler of Vancouver, Canada, Torrey Nichols of Belleville, IL, Dameon Christian of East St. Louis, IL, Quiandez McAfee of Michigan, Detries Tipler of Anna, IL, Harvey Tipler Jr. of East St. Louis, IL and Sana Tipler of East St. Louis, IL;  three nieces, Tracy Tipler of Collinsville, IL, Taryn Nichols of East St. Louis, IL and Sherrell Quarrells of Cahokia, IL;  two great nieces, Ashley Tipler of Collinsville, IL and Karrington Tipler of St. Louis, MO;  two great great nephews, Jaylen Tipler of Collinsville, IL and Torrey Nichols, Jr. of Belleville, IL;  one great great niece, Casey Nichols of Belleville, IL;  a long time friend, Ms. Helen Sanders and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were close to her heart.
