Christine Glenn was born on March 15, 1940 in Centreville, Illinois to Vernon, Sr. and Benella Glenn Peets. She was the fourth child blessed to this union. Both of her parents along with her brothers, Vernon, Jr., John and her sister, Joyce all preceded her in death.
Christine was raised in East St. Louis, Illinois and received her elementary schooling there, eventually graduating from Lincoln Senior High School. Christine confessed her hope in Christ at an early age, and continued it until her dying day.
Christine was employed by the East St. Louis School District 189, working at Lilly Freeman Elementary School, from which she retired in 1985. She lived out the rest of her days enjoying herself and her family. She loved her children, grands and great-grands and held a special place for her nephew Darrell, and nieces Carmen, Madeline, Marsha, and Rhonda.
Christine departed this life on May 7, 2018 at the Oliver Anderson Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Michael Glenn and Robert (Alexis) Murphy, Jr. and one daughter, Alice King, grandchildren, Matthew Jones, III, Marcus Anthony Woods, Jermaine Howard, Brittany Savage, Robert Murphy, III, Yahnna Murphy, Amira Murphy, Lea and London Murphy, Amilla Rey, Rain Murphy and Mya Murphy and six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Rochelle Glenn of East St. Louis, IL, Amanda Martin-Talley of Toledo, OH, Jeraldine Keyes of Memphis, TN, Alice Perry of Fairview Heights, IL and one brother, Keith (Sharon) Glenn of Minneapolis, MN and a host of other relatives and friends.
