Charles Emory Blakely Jr. (affectionately known as "Junior") was born on November 30, 1933 in East Chicago, Indiana to Charles Emory Blakely Sr. & Ora Mae Miller. Charles is preceded in death by both parents, Charles E. Blakely Sr. & Ora Mae Miller; sister, Elizabeth Blakely, and stepson, Anthony Williams (Ann).
Charles lived a full life, moving from Washington, D.C., back home to Indiana, then to Cleveland, OH, and finally settling in Alorton, IL. After attending high school, Charles served in the Navy, an experience that shaped him and instilled a sense of discipline and camaraderie.
Charles lived a life filled with love, laughter and an undeniable spirit that touched everyone who knew him. His passion for fishing was rivaled only by his love for family. Until the pandemic, serene moments by the water where he found happiness — a place to unwind and reflect. He often reminisced about those peaceful fishing trips, stories echoing like the soft waves against the shore.
Charles was a man of simple pleasures, enjoying classic Westerns and comedies. Whether it was the rugged landscapes of "Rifleman" or the antics of "The Three Stooges," he cherished these moments, often calling them "educational programming." His laughter was infectious, and he uniquely made any gathering feel warm and inviting.
Charles worked in factories and maintenance jobs before contributing his services to a local junkyard. He also worked for the local police department in their office. For many years, he was a beloved figure in Alorton, sharing treats and laughter with all the neighborhood kids — everyone knew Mr. Chuck.
Charles departed this life on February 5, 2025. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving partner, Lenona D. Williams; his daughters, Anjanette Blakely (Michael), Cynthia Blakely-Beatty (Robert), Claudia Blakely-Ford (Jerry), Felicia Blakely, and Delores Blakely; son, Charles Blakely III; stepson, Fernando Williams (Sherri); sister, Jeanette Henderson (Eugene); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
