Obituary

Our heavenly and precise Lord has summoned our father, brother, grandfather and dear friend, Mr. Cary William Washington Jr.(Duke) home in his gates.   On September 14, 2018 where there he stood and they welcomed him in to his final destination for eternal rest his father, Cary Sr.,mother, Shirley Neal, grandmother, Mildred Neal, son, Cary 3rd and his beloved wife Elaine C. Washington.

On July 3rd 1951 Shirley Neal and Cary W. Washington Sr welcomed Cary William Washington Jr into the world. During Cary's lively childhood he grew up in John De Shields where he found lifetime friends and found a relationship with Christ where he attended St Paul Church with many other southend local churches.  Gowing up Duke was the cool, laid back, spontaneous jokester that all would love to be around, just because of his dare deviling personality. Duke never meant any harm or was never the wild type, he loved his family and cared for them in many different ways. Where that one day he would want to start his own.

One of his passions was football where he attended East Side Sr High ,and met his lifetime partner Elaine Crawford. Well later in Cary's adult life he found his first true love. Who would have ever thought that this would be fate.  Well indeed it was Elaine Crawford stayed next door and he followed her in matrimony to tie the knot, where they had four children; Wayne Crawford,Spenser Washington, Megan Washington and Melyssa Washington and three stepchildren; Elliott Crawford, Pierre Crawford and Ruthie Crawford. He began his journey as a married man and worked for New York Cleaners until retirement. He resided in Centreville with his loving family.

Cary leaves behind his children, Wayne Crawford, Spenser Washington, Megan Washington, Melyssa Washington, step children Elliott Crawford, Pierre Crawford and Ruth laine Crawford. 14 grandchildren, Marcus Millender, Steve Smith, Raven Crawford, Kaliyah Crawford, Cierra Crawford, Alaina Crawford, Shamyra Crawford, Ayanna Crawford, Wayne Crawford, Kylee Crawford, Chamaria Calamease, Alayla McCaskill, Paris Gladney and Simone Crawford; one brother, Harold Jerome Washington;  3 sisters, Stephanie Slay, Erica Washington, Toddrea Buchanan;  3 nephews; 2 nieces;  a host of cousins and aunts and uncles.
