Obituary

Ceasar Sumrall, Jr. was born on December 18, 1940 in Quitman, Mississippi. He was born to the union of Ceasar and Della Sumrall, Sr. He was raised, grew up and attended Shirley Owens School in Quitman.

As a young man, in 1962, Ceasar moved to East St. Louis, Illinois and also got married to Ernestine Powell.

Ceasar was baptized as one of Jehovah Witnesses in 1971. He found great joy in glorifying the word of Jehovah, our Creator. He encouraged and helped a countless number of people, touching many hearts in his lifetime. He always treated everyone with respect. He loved to laugh, be with family and most important, he loved the ministry and always made everyone feel at home and welcomed.

Ceasar was preceded in death by his parents, Ceasar and Della Sumrall; wife, Ernestine Sumrall; sisters, Flaura Russell, Laura Cameron and Magdeline Knott; and brothers, Daniel Sumrall, Sr., Willie Len Sumrall and Benjamin Sumrall.

Ceasar Sumrall, Jr. vindicated Jehovah name and died peacefully at 9am on Sunday, August 13, 2017. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Terry (Trena) Sumrall of Minneapolis, MN and Sherry (Leland) Deloach of Glennville, GA; 4 grandchildren, Terineque March'e Sumrall, Tavar Brent Sumrall, Marieta (Rita) Sumrall and Selina Latrice Sumrall; 4 great-grandchildren, Ronald "Ronnie" Webb, III, Sydney Marcel Gbor, Jaidlynn Tavar Sumrall and William Jack Campbell; sister, Baby Lou Ruffin; and a host of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
