Brian Sylvester Foster was born on July 23, 1953 in St. Louis, MO to the late Fredricka Briggs-Foster and the late Sylvester Foster. His beloved parents preceded him in death.
Brian received his formal education in the East St. Louis School District #189 attending Dunbar Elementary School, Clark Jr. High and graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School in 1971. Brian demonstrated an interest in learning and an admirable respect for the value of education. During his high school years, he earned the honor of Perfect Attendance. Brian enjoyed athletics and was a member of the Track and Field Team. He earned a baseball scholarship to Texas A&M University, however his love for the East St. Louis Community chose instead to attend Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Brian had many talent. He was an excellent swimmer, diver, lifeguard, and an outdoorsman with great survival skills. During his childhood, Brian was a devoted member of the local Boy Scouts earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
Brian entered the work force in the 1970's. He was employed at Monsanto Chemical Company and Mason Landscaping in East St. Louis, Illinois.\
Brian accepted a hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Shiloh A.M.E. Church where he was christened; participating in numerous church activities including the Youth Choir.
Brian departed this life on Friday, January 2, 2026 in Swansea, IL. Brian leaves to cherish his memory a brother, Julian Scott Holly and other relatives including Herbert Moore, Jr. (Brenda), Tracie Baker, Gemma Moore, Martin (Dr. Jennifer) Moore, Charde Moore, Stacy Moore, Alexander Frazer, Sydney Frazer, and Carmyne Suggs.
