Obituary

Mrs. Bonnie McCallum was born on April 21, 1938 in Kemper County, Mississippi to the proud parents Sam and Lillie Holton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Randell McCallum, Sr.; both parents, Sam Holton and Lillie Rush; two sons, Michael G. McCallum and Randy L. McCallum; five brothers, Sam Holton, Myron Holton, Jim Holton, Marcell Holton and Ezell Holton.

Bonnie was educated in Kemper High School District in Dekalb, Mississippi. Bonnie was joined in unity to Randell McCallum for sixty-five years. To that union, she gave birth to seven children.

Bonnie was a loving mother, wife, and sister. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She attended St. John Baptist Church in Alorton, Illinois under the leadership of Pastor Carlos Malone until her health failed her. She was employed with Holiday Inn in Collinsville, Illinois for twenty-five years until her retirement in 1979.

Bonnie entered eternal rest in the comfort of her home surrounded by family on August 19, 2023. She loved being a mother, devoted wife, and grandmother.

She was a loving, god-fearing woman. Whatever she had, you were more than welcomed to it.

Mrs. Bonnie Jean McCallum leaves to cherish her memories five daughters, Marilyn (William) Gooch of Belleville, IL, Evelyn (Willie) Palmer of Fairview Heights, IL, Sara (Marc) Connor of Swansea, IL, Melonitra (Mike) Cooper of Houston, TX, Gwen (Randy) McCallum of Alorton, IL; son, Cal McCallum of Alorton, IL; brother, Marshal (Peggy) Holton of St. Louis, MO; twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
