Bonnie Jean was born in Scooba, Mississippi on August 26, 1939 to Mary Ellen Howard and Ezell Rogers. Bonnie Jean lived with her grandmother, Fannie Howard and first cousin and best friend, Virta Howard, both preceded her in death.
Bonnie moved to East St. Louis, IL to live with her mother, Mary Ellen and her step father, James McDonald and sister. Both parents preceded Bonnie in death. Bonnie continued her education in East Saint. Louis.
Bonnie met Theodore Lofton in Lincoln Park in 1956 . They fell in love and married in 1957, followed by the birth of their daughter, second daughter and then son. Bonnie and her oldest daughter, Kim spent time in Long Beach, California as Theodore served in the Navy. Upon the family's return from California they purchased a home at 724 Alhambra Court in East Saint Louis. Theodore also preceded her in death.
Bonnie eventually moved with her oldest daughter in 2019 . Bonnie spent her winters in Atlanta to spend quality time with her children living in Atlanta, Georgia.
Bonnie retired from St. Mary's Hospital, where she worked as a Dietician.
Bonnie dedicated her life to the Lord in December of 2016 .
Bonnie leaves to cherish her precious memory; daughters ~ Kim (Ozzie) Fearn and Debra (Ron) Anderson; son ~ Reginald Lofton; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sister ~ Earnistine Jones and Clotee Rogers; brother ~ Ronnie Rogers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
