Obituary

Beverly Holland was born on February 16, 1948 in East St. Louis, IL to Ozella Smith. Beverly confessed a hope in Christ at an early age uniting with Bible Fellowship Apostolic Church under the leadership of Dr. Levi R. King, Sr.

Beverly attended Lincoln Sr. High School and later dedicated  her life at being a mother to her seven children. She loved cooking and family time.  She united in wedlock to James W. Elliot. Twenty years later she married the love of her life, Gino Holland.

Beverly loved to write poetry and loved to hug.  Nobody was a stranger.  Beverly had a passion to help people and she exhibited this by volunteering at the Murphysboro Sr. Citizens Center.  She loved her seniors and they loved her.

Beverly loved her church.  Living in Murphysboro, made regular attendance difficult, but she was faithful in other areas.  One area was on the 5am Prayer Line, she was a very faithful warrior.

She is preceded in death by her ex-husband, James W. Elliot  Sr.; her mother, Ozella Smith; her children James W. Elliot Jr. and Iketa Elliot; siblings Girves Davis, Deborah McCray and Marilyn Black; her grandfather Ish Davis; nephew Thomas Turner, and her three grandchildren.

Beverly departed this life on January 11, 2022 in O'Fallon, Illinois. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband Gino Holland; her children,  David (Marzena), Dacia Garrett, MaeAnna (Justin) Lowery, Jevon Elliot and Tytil Elliot; grandchildren, Dajia Elliot, Ketera Elliot, Crystal, Issac, Simone, Daniel, LaShawn Johnson, Janay Elliot, Micah Pearson, Drenell Pearson, Jeremiah Pearson, Desione Elliot, Dione Elliot, and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings Jessie Bailey, Bernadette Davis, Anthony Davis, Regina Davis, and Devon Smith; special grandchildren, Marcia Davis, Bessie Oliver, and Andrea Elliot.
