Obituary

Betty Sue Edwards graced our world with her presence in Little Rock, Arkansas on June 6th, 1952 to the union of her late parents, Elmer and Asa Lee Piggee.

Betty received the precious gift of the holy ghost and was later baptized in the name of Jesus at Holy Foundation Church.

On January 1, 1988, Betty united in holy matrimony to her late husband, Pastor Jimmy D. Edwards.

Betty was educated in the Little Rock, Arkansas school system and graduated from Lincoln High School. After graduating from high school, Betty then attended business college followed by Venture Store. Betty retired the first time from KMart department store, after being employed for over 17 years. Betty then decided that life was too short to sit at home and knit, so she decided to pick up several small jobs from being a cashier at Skyview Drive-In to a stocker at Old Time Pottery. She then decided to dedicate the rest of her working years employed for the Fairview Heights School District #110 at Illini Middle School and Grant Elementary School. She finally put on her retirement belt, and kept it on for good, in May of 2014.

As she aged gracefully, Betty enjoyed being "Granny", watching WWE Wrestling, going to church at Greater New Bethel Temple, playing bingo, fishing, and spending time at the shooting range.

Though Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Michael Roosevelt White II and her brothers, Ralph Piggee, Lane Piggee and Ernest Piggee. Betty is survived by her daughter, Cassandra (Jerry) Broadway of Fairview Heights, IL; her grandchildren, Jessica (Alex) Hanna of Saint Ann, MO, Jennifer (Byron Shepherd) White of Belleville, IL, Jerry Broadway of Fairview Heights, IL, Alexis Montgomery of Belleville, IL, Miracle Montgomery of Belleville, IL, and Jeremy Broadway of Fairview Heights, IL; her great-grandchildren, Aden Allen, A'Kierra Broadway, and Zay'tavion Watson; her sisters, Frances Autry of Little Rock, Arkansas, Sara Hendricks of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Elmerine Piggee of Kansas Cty, KS; her brothers, Roy Piggee of Quail Springs, OK, Troy (Faye) Piggee of Crescent, OK and Glen Roy in Little Rock, Arkansas followed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
