Bernard M. "Noddy Rod" Heard was born to the union of Bernard Mathis and Geraldine Heard on March 21, 1984 in Centreville, Illinois. Bernard was the first of six children. He was preceded in death by his father.

Bernard received his education at McHenry Elementary, Mason Clark Middle and Rock High School.

Bernard "Noddy Rod" held multiple jobs, including Elite Staffing, M & M Tire Shop and multiple carwashes. He also worked on plenty of houses. He was a man that was great with his hands.

Bernard was the kind of person that would do any and everything for everyone and would not think twice about it. Bernard was the "Ultimate Go Getter." "Noddy Rod" was known around the entire East St. Louis and Washington Park areas for his charisma and endurance. There was never a dull moment while he was in a person's presence.

Bernard leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Geraldine Heard of East St. Louis, IL; siblings, Jerel Heard, Tamikia Heard, Tamishia Heard, Tywan Heard all of East St. Louis, IL and DaQueshia Heard of St. Louis, MO; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and many friends.

Everyone truly loved him and will miss him.
