Belton Gale was born on November 5, 1924 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the union of Wiley and Naomi Gale. He received Christ at an early age at Canan Galilee.

Belton graduated from high school in Arkansas. He worked at Ford Motor Company for over 35 years. He was a hard worker and loved good food. Belton met Idella Brimmage. They were married for 5 years.

Belton was preceded in death by his late wife Dorothy Mayes-Gale and his sister Nel from Arkansas.

Belton Gale departed this life on April 22, 2021. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his children Mary (David) Hammond, Kent Washington, and Larry (Sharon) Gale of Belleville, IL; brother-in-laws Johnnie (Latrice) Brimmage of Shiloh, IL and Pastor Andrew (Ruth) Prowell of Cahokia, IL; sister-in-law Mary Lou Thorpe of Madison, IL; 2 step-daughters Patricia Mayes of East St. Louis, IL and Sarah Mayes of Madison, IL; 2 step-sons Willie Frank and Tony Mayes (Rosemary), 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
