Barry Allen Lewis, 20 year resident of Belleville, Illinois, passed away on the early evening of December 30, 2025.

Barry was born on October 29, 1966, in Centreville, Illinois, lovingly raised and nurtured by his parents, O.B. and Margie Lewis.

O.B. was so proud of his son that he carved Barry's name in the driver's door of his car. Barry was always proud to show that photo.

Barry, an avid Oakland Raiders fan, was not at all pleased with their move to Las Vegas, but continued to follow and support them.

Known for his often animated conversations about the Raiders and disgust for the Chiefs, his friends and coworkers always knew what to expect after game day.

Barry's second passion was his Chrysler 300C. It always brought a smile to his face when he told you, 'IT'S A HEMI BABY!' Even when he became unable to drive, he insisted he hold on to the car. Often times he would remote start it, just to hear it 'hum'.

Barry took pride in his longevity at Ameren. He often spoke of how he began his meter reading job in 1987 at Illinois Power. There were the transitions to Illinova, Dynegy, and lastly Ameren.

Barry worked for the utility company for 38 long years and he was proud of that accomplishment.

While many employees chose not to wear Ameren attire during their personal time because it put a 'target' on their back, Barry took pride in it.

You would often see him out and about in the community all suited up in his Ameren cap, shirt, and jacket.

Barry leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 20 years, Candranette Lewis; son, Darius; daughter, Brianne and his dog he learned to love, Django.

Although his family was small, his village was HUGE.

Special thanks to Larry Hopkins, Vivian Agnew, Ivan Kenton, Nate Hodges, Bill & Julee Baysinger, Alex Hamilton & Eldrick Douglas. We never would have made it without your friendship and support.
