Augusta Lucille McBroom was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 18, 1945 to Rosetta Augusta Taylor and Lorenzo MacNamee, both who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by Zola May Davis, Roberta Giles, Walter Giles and one grandson, Walter Taylor, Jr.
Augusta graduated from Lincoln Senior High School. She held various jobs, such as the post office and print shop. She confessed her love for Christ at an early age. In 1976, Augusta decided to uproot her family and move to Paducah, Kentucky to give her children a better opportunity at life. After moving to Kentucky, she furthered her education and became a L.P.N.
In the true fashion statement, " that you can always return home", in 1989, Augusta returned to East St. Louis, Illinois. Shortly after she became a member of Ira Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Augusta Lucille McBroom at the age of 71 years old, transitioned peacefully into eternal life with God on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 2:15pm.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Chestina Taylor, Walter (Kathy) Taylor, Eric (Tiffany) Taylor, Ethan (Simone) Taylor, Felicia (DeMetrius) Graves and Leroy Graves; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold (Marva) Taylor and Wayne Davis; one sister, Joann Foster; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends
