Obituary

Mrs. Ardie Foxworth-Rhodes was born on July 23, 1949 in Columbus, Mississippi to the union of Earl and Creasie Foxworth. Mrs. Rhodes was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Creasie Foxworth; her children, Thurman Coleman Rhodes (1970), Eugene Coleman Rhodes (2001) and daughter, Nicole Renee Rhodes-Thorton (2014). She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John "Pete" Blunt and fraternal twin, Earl "Junboy" Foxworth, Jr.; and her grandson, Monte Thorton.

Ardie Rhodes was baptized and faithfully believed in her Lord, Jesus Christ and passed her faith on to her children, in the tradition her mother passed on to her.

She loved her children and grandchildren. Her motto was "Take care of her babies and you'll have no problem with her."

Mrs. Rhodes had worked for MERS-Goodwill Centur until her retirement.

Mrs. Ardie Mae Foxworth-Rhodes departed this life on Friday, March 26, 2021.

Mrs. Rhodes leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories: her sister ~ Mary Mosley of Belleville, Illinois; her brother ~ James Foxworth of Burbank, California; her daughters ~ Darletta Foxworth-Flood of Griffin, Georgia, Diane and Sharon Rhodes of Belleville, Illinois; her son ~ Ken Rhodes of East St. Louis, Illinois; sixteen grandchildren ~ Tierra Foxworth, Alonzo Thomas, Jr., Aquela Gradner all of Columbus, Mississippi, Leslie Thomas of Griffin, Georgia, Tommie Liddell, III, Montrez Liddell, James Gilmore, Maurice Allen, Marquis Marks, Eugene Rhodes, Jr., Jalen and Jarrod Rhodes all of Belleville, Illinois, Davion Rhodes of Saint Louis, Missouri, Jessie Thorton, III of Fort Drum, New York (U.S. Army); twenty-one great grandchildren; and extended family members: Angela Mosley, Michelle Spencer, Daryl Luster, Erick and Earl Jackson, Alois Bell, Myron Willis, Marlita Lampley, Montez Lampley, Janet Blount-Clark, Shawntia Chester and Tamika Brown.
