Obituary

Andre Demetrius Wright, affectionately known as "Bert," was born on September 8, 1976, at John Gaston Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, to his loving parents, Elsie Mae Wright and Andre Simmons.

Andre was a loving, kindhearted, and joyful person who had a way of bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his warm heart, and his beautiful smile. Andre was never one to ask for much; he was humble, giving, and appreciative of the simple things in life. His presence brought comfort and happiness to those blessed to know him.

Andre received his education through East St. Louis School District #189. Throughout his life, he was employed in various jobs throughout the community. Andre was a hardworking man who touched the lives of many through through his everyday interactions, friendships, and acts of kindness.

Andre was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Earlene Robinson; his beloved aunt, Annie Hays; his uncles, L.C. Johnson, Roosevelt Wright, and Willie Robinson.

Andre leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving mother, Elsie Mae Wright; his father, Andre Simmons; his sister, Angela Wright. He also leaves his loving aunts, Addie B. White, Minnie Robinson, and Maggie Kelly (Victor); his uncles, Arthur Robinson, Elbert Robinson, and Jessie Robinson; along with a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends; best friend, Donald Fenton, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

Though Andre is no longer with us in body, his laughter, smile, kindness, and loving spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His memory will continue to live on through his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched.
