Obituary

Alice Pickett transitioned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, April 1, 2019, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born on
November 12, 1932 to the union of Y.T. Green and Emma Paige in Tchula, Mississippi. After moving to Saint Louis, Missouri, she was
educated in Saint Louis and later moved to Illinois, where she was employed as a licensed practitioner nurse (LPN) at St. Mary's Hospital
in East St. Louis, Illinois. After 34 years of service, she retired in 1993.  Alice was united in holy matrimony to her husband, Lee Pickett, for 47
years until he departed his earthly life on September 3, 2001. She attended Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Centreville, Illinois, under
the leadership of Rev. Jennings.

Alice enjoyed traveling and she and her husband, Lee, spent many years looking forward to their favorite time annually traveling to other
states; just to name a few far from the area to places such as Utah, Wyoming and Nevada, until she became ill and she could no longer
travel long distances. They also loved local fishing trips during the summer months, often times taking her mother, Emma (the expert)
along. Those outings provided many great fish stories.

Alice loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they were her life and joy. She cherished each and
everyone of them, always showing her love and they knew and cherished every moment they had to spend with their Mom and Granny.
Her parents; husband, Lee; son Larry; and siblings, YT "Junior", John and Keith, all preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her children ~ Lamar (Lisa) Pickett of Belleville, Illinois, Lavern (James) Giles of Fairview Heights, Illinois and
Jeffery (Chrissie) Pickett of Belleville, Illinois; grandsons ~ Larry, Jawon, Jeffery, Jalen, James, Javon, Dennis and Jordan; granddaughters ~
Raven and Gelisa; several great grandchildren; brother ~ Thad; sister ~ Ora (Thallis); two aunts; one uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
