Mr. Addice Williams was born April 11, 1933 in Fireworks Station (Centreville) to the union of the late Clarence and Margaret (Thompson) Williams.

He confessed his hope and faith in God at an early age. Addice knew God and God knows Addice. Addice was a member of the New Jerusalem Church or, as he would say, "The Temple."

He attended East St. Louis School District #189. He worked various jobs over the years including driving buses and working as a security guard until his health began to decline.

"Uncle Addice" loved to play bingo, sketch, sing, and he loved to talk! He never met a stranger. You could always find him conversing with someone. He had a memory like an elephant. He could recall things of the past as if it happened yesterday.

Addice was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence, Emmett, Fred, Howard, and Cletus; and six sisters, Arlena (Big Sister), Thelma (Little Sister), Margaret, Clara, Claudella, Ursula, and Juanita; one granddaughter, Johnella Williams.

"Uncle Addice" departed this life on June 12, 2021 in Maryville, Illinois. He will truly be missed and cherished by his son, John C. Williams of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two granddaughters, Tyko Williams and Veronica Gabriel of Fort Wayne, Indiana; great-grandchildren of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 3 devoted nieces that often visited him at the nursing home, Daisy Nealy, Deloise Owens, and Grace (Cleveland) Combs; a devoted church member and friend, Ms. Diane Cummin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
