Aaron James King, Sr. was born on June 19, 1940 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the union of James and Irene (nee Jones) King. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Moses King, Frank Wallace and a sister, Zola Jackson.

Aaron was christened at St. Henry's Catholic Church at an early age and served as an altar boy and was also educated in the Catholic School System. Aaron was a business man most of his life. He owned three stores and a cleaners. He was an insurance agent also and worked at Granite City Steel.

In 1960, he married Junice Lewis King. To this union, a son, Aaron King, Jr was born. They were later divorced.

His retirement from a life of joys and toils came on September 17, 2016 at Bria Nursing Home in Cahokia.

Aaron leaves to cherish his memory a son, Aaron King, Jr.; a stepdaughter, Diane Rhodes; two stepsons, Larry and Edward Rose of East St. Louis, IL; two sisters, Donna Samuels and Juanita Triplett both of East St. Louis, IL; two brothers, William Wallace and Martlis Wallace both of East St. Louis, IL; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many relatives and friends.
